D

This post will need to be short as the wifi that I was using over the summer seems to have disappeared and so I'm using my dad's computer and it just feels weird to be blogging on here ... a little bit like it did when I was little and my parents said not to play in the car and I would anyway and I would always end up locking the steering wheel. And he keeps walking into the room. Either because he wants to use the computer or because he wants to talk ... I'm not sure which one. I'll find out soon.

My mom returned from the hospital today ... I think just hours before I arrived. She's very weak. Some strange combination of medication has given her pain in all of her muscles making it impossible for her to walk without help. Her blood pressure medication (which, her doctor explained, was supposed to help her body get rid of toxins in the process of regulating her blood pressure) has in fact raised the amount of toxins going through her kidneys. They've taken her off of that and she's now on a beta blocker for her heart. Her heart muscles also have stiffened quite a bit from the toxins.

And then there's just a lot of other stuff that is all jumbled up ... I think for everyone involved. A lot of poor communication. A lot of no communication. A lot of confusion. Her skin is very loose over her body.

And when should I just lie? The parking shuttle guy, as he was driving me to the airport, asked me, "So is this a fun trip?" And I said, "Umm, no, not really ..." "Business?" "Actually, I'm visiting family." And then I thought, "Well, I don't want him to think that I mean visiting family in and of itself isn't fun"; and so I added, " ... in the hospital." And he said, more meaningfully than this will sound, "Oh, that's a bummer." And then we were quiet the rest of the way until he said, "You said Alaska Airlines, right?"
